Rough Hill Cottage

Dwelling. Probably C16. Squared marlstone rubble, double roman file roof brick
stack to left gable. One storey and attic, 3-light casement, left, and 2-light
mullioned casement low, right, smal dormer, central plank door; in left gable very
small dormer, central plank door; in left gable very small light to staircase, and
back, small 2-light stone mullioned casement to stair.
Interior: well preserved large open fire with bressumer and bread oven, flanked by
stone spiral stair, all at left hand end.
A small cottage but important survival, possibly belonging to the Church of St Cyr
(q.v.) with which there is a direct connection, c130 m to the north.
