Lodge to Sezincote House. By S. P. Cockerell, c1805. Ashlar
limestone, slate roof, brick chimney. Main body at right angles
to road with wings of equal length attached at rear, the whole
forming a T-shaped plan. Symmetrical facade with single gable at
front. 2 storeys. 3-light bay window with 4-centred arched heads
to each light and leaded panes with some coloured glass, to ground
floor of front gable end. Moulded eaves coping with leaded roof
above rising up to stone palmette in relief over bay. Circular
window above with moulded architrave. Access to wings either side
of gable end via 2 'V' plank doors. Fanlight over left-hand door.
Gable end enclosed in Hindu/Mogul style lattice work with ogee
cusped arches continued back over flagged paths to either side of
gable end to form a short colonnade leading to doorways in wings.
Cusped barge boards. Central stack.
Interior retains old washing copper, shelved dairy and pantry, and
small range.
