Four houses in free-standing row. Probably C18, modified C19. Plain gabled
block to street, has two deep contiguous gabled wings projecting at back.
No 1: coursed rubble on plinth and stone slate roof, brick gable stack, two
storeys and attic, 1-windowed, 2-light casement gabled dormer over 2-light
stone chamfered mullion casement, over 2-light C19 casement with horizontal
glazing bars, to the right 4-panel part glazed door under stone lintel, on
return gable is another 2-light chamfered mullion casement at first floor,
and wing extensions runs to coped gable. No 2: limestone ashlar on plinth
concrete stone slate to coped gable, right and brick gable stack. Two
storeys, sashes with glazing bars, and left, C20 plank door. Nos 1 and 2
were built as a pair, but the front wall of No 2 subsequently rebuilt.
Nos 3 and 4, coursed rubble on high plinth with chamfered top, stone slate
roof coped gable right and gable stack. Two storeys, each 1-windowed,
2-light C19 casements to no 3 and C20 2-light steel casements to no 4.
Doors grouped centrally between windows, 4-panel flush to no 3 and C20
plank to no 4. Included primarily for group value.
