Parish church. Medieval and later. Flint with ashlar and some brick
dressings. Slate roofs. West tower; nave with south aisle and north porch;
chancel. Early Perpendicular west tower with diagonal buttresses. 3-light
panel-traceried west window, slit windows to first floor and 2-light bell-
openings with single soufflets flanked by super-mullions. Crenellated
parapet with flushwork tracery, gargoyles and polygonal corner turrets.
South aisle with one restored panel-traceried 2-light west window, a plain-
chamfered south doorway, 3 3-light panel-traceried windows with 4-centred
heads and an identical east window. North wall with 2 3-light Perpendicular
windows, an ovolo-moulded doorway of 2 orders with hood mould and a restored
late-Medieval porch. Evidence of former rood stair. Chancel with one
2-light Y-traceried south window and 2 2-light cusped Y-traceried windows
to north. Priest's doorway to north and a restored 3-light panel-traceried
east window. Interior. 4-bay south arcade of octagonal piers supporting
arches of 2 plain-chamfered orders. Wave-moulded tower arch with polygonal
responds also wave-moulded. Chancel arch of 2 plain-chamfered orders on
3-shaft responds with intermediate rolls. Chancel piscina with tri-lobe
arch flanked by a sedile which probably also served as a window - now
blocked. Octagonal font with blank shields surrounded by seaweed carving.
