Terrace of three cottages. Nos 4 and 5, originally one house, late C16-early C17.
No. 6 added, probably C18.
Nos 4 and 5 have brick walls on a stone base, raised in cob, thatched roofs and
brick stacks. North elevation, facing road, has three casement windows with
glazing bars on ground floor. Attics have three half-dormers with horizontally
sliding sashes with glazing bars. Lower extension at east end, with stone walls and
tiled roof. Entrances in rear, south wall. Ledged doors, that to No. 5 in a timber
porch with corrugated iron roof. Lean-to extension to No. 5 with stone walls and
slate roof.
Internally, main ground floor room of No. 5 has a large open fireplace, partly built
up, with bread oven, and a deeply chamfered ceiling beam. No. 6 has stone walls and
thatched roof. 6-panel door in north wall. Ground floor has one horizontally
sliding sash window with glazing bars. Attic has two half-dormers with casements
with glazing bars. Lean-to extension at rear, with stone walls and slate roof.
