One of a pair of houses q.v. No 54 (formerly 2 houses). Probably
C18-early C19; built in 2 phases. Earliest part (at the centre of
the row) large blocks of finely dressed and coursed limestone,
later extension to the right gable end, coursed squared and dressed
limestone. Stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. Long rectangular
plan. Two storeys. Garden front; One C20 single-light wood
casement, one C20 two-light casement. Two C19 two-light wood
casements with leaded panes to ground floor. Two C19 two-light
casements with leaded panes and two 3-light C20 wood casements to
first floor. Central C20 part-glazed door with glazing bars at
further doorway far right. Roadside front; One 2-light wood
casement to first floor, one 3-light wooden casement to ground
floor with C20 timber lintel, both windows with leaded panes. One
2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement to earlier range
with C20 plank door to left. Axial and gable-end stack. Forms a
row with No 54 (q.v.).
