Description

ST 79 SE ALDERLEY -

8/3 Farmyard Buildings at Park Farm

II

Large Farmyard layout. Mid Cl9, possibly by Lewis Vulliamy.
Coursed rubble stone, Cotswold stone slate roof with sprocketed
eaves. Formal U-shape layout with central 2-storey range and single
storey wings. Central range has double width square opening with
relieving arch, and square pitching hole over. Single storey
wings contain former stables to right, animal shelters to left
but now used for variety of agricultural purposes. End of wing to
right has section of corrugated iron roof, end of wing to left has
5 raised ridge tiles, probably as some form of ventilation. The
yard is divided into 2 by a long contemporary wall across the front
(south side) and from front to back on left of 2-storey range.
