Pair of gatepiers, possibly from a former house now disappeared.
Mid/late C18. Rusticated dressed stone on bases, with moulded
cornices and very large eggshape finials with "egg-cups" of
stylized fluted acanthus design. The whole about 3.5m high. The
inside face of each pier has an applied "niche", the full height of
the pier, with small shell at top and flattening to a scroll
moulding at the top.
