Anglican Parish Church. C13 origin. Tower C15, Porch C17, chancel rebuilt
and aisle added 1860-65, architect W Slater. Rubble stone walls, tiled roofs
with coped gables. Separate gabled roofs to nave and aisle. Nave, north
aisle of 4 bays, chancel, west tower, south porch. Tower of 3 stages, with
battlemented parapet and corner pinnacles. Moulded string course with carved
gargoyles below parapet. 2-light Perpendicular windows to belfry, with
pierced stone. panels. On west face, clock with plaque dated 1878. Main
west window of 3-lights, with Perpendicular tracery. West door below this,
in moulded pointed arch. Diagonal buttresses and moulded plinth. In south
wall of nave, west of porch, one C13 lancet. Round-arched doorway to porch.
East of porch. 2 C15 - Perpendicular style 3-light windows, with hoodmoulds.
South wall of chancel - C19 - has two 2-light Perpendicular style windows
with hoodmoulds. Diagonal buttresses to chancel. East window of 3 lights,
Perpendicular style, with hoodmould. North wall of chancel has 2 windows,
as in south wall. In east wall of north aisle, a re-set C15 three-light
Perpendicular style window. Diagonal buttresses to aisle. North wall of
aisle has four 3-light Perpendicular style windows, - C19. Internally, walls
of nave and chancel stripped, aisle walls plastered. Late C15 barrel roof to
nave, with moulded ribs, carved bosses and enriched moulded wall plate. C19
roofs of similar design to chancel and aisle - all boarded internally. Stone
flag floor in nave - C19 tiles in chancel. North arcade has moulded arches,
piers with attached shafts and carved caps. Chancel arch. C19 has single
shafts with moulded caps. Carved stone corbels in wall above this, supporting
nave roof ribs. Tower arch has single shafts with carved caps. On each side
of this, angle corbels with carved heads support eastern buttresses to tower.
Font, C19, octagonal, with quatrefoil panels. C19 oak pulpit. Piscina in
