House, dated 1589, extensive remodelling dated 1863. Coursed rubble,
squared dressed rubble and ashlar, slate roof with gable ends. Stone stacks
at gables and projecting from front right wall. U plan. Western arm of
rubble and may be the oldest part. Projecting 2 storey front porch is
probably C19. South facade: 2 storeys and attic. 2, and 4-light square
headed stone mullioned windows with hollow chamfers. The ground floor left
windows have a continuous square returned label which abuts the porch without
returning. To the right of the porch is a projecting stack. 3 Cl9 gabled
dormers with wooden 2-light, 4 pane casements in roof. The east front has some
ovolo-moulded stone mullioned windows. Internally there are deep chamfered
stopped beams in the west and boxed beams in the east. Central newel stair
to the north. Roof retains heavy trusses with cambered collar beams under a
C19 roof structure in both wings. The east wing has room with C19 panelling.
