to south-east of
Nunriding Hall
GV II
Garden walls, late C17 or early C18. Rubble with many squared blocks reused
from older building; dressed stone piers. Rectangular garden: north and east
tall walls with shallow gabled coping; lower wall on south ramped up at east
end. Low west wall has almost flat coping and carries 12 squared stone piers
with moulded pyramidal caps, the rails between replaced by a wooden fence;
later gateway near south end. Doorway near west end of north wall has flat
triangular arch in square frame; doorway at north end of east wall,flanked
externally by buttresses, now ruinous.
