Bank, dated 1898 on rainwater heads. Ashlar front; Lakeland slate roof. 3
storeys, 5 bays in 2:1:2 rhythm. Plinth, channeled rustication to ground floor,
moulded 1st floor band. Central renewed doors under plain fanlight in round
arch, within surround with Ionic columns and end pilasters, and entablature
carrying cartouche inscribed 'BANK'. 6-panel door with overlight in right end
bay and plate-glass sash windows to ground floor, all with keyed lintels. 1st
floor has 15-pane sashes in architraves with shaped feet, the central with a
keyed lintel, beneath round-arched cornices. 2nd floor has altered sashes in
architraves with triple keystones and projecting moulded sills. Eaves cornice
with modillions and egg-and-dart. Coped gables; rendered corniced left end and
ridge stacks.
