GV II
Graveyard memorial, 1881. Red marble on sandstone plinth; bronze. Base has
Ionic angle columns and pediment with antefixae, above lead inscription to
John Joicey of Newton Hall. Free-standing cross above, of loosely Celtic form
with carved ornament. Surrounding dwarf wall, with chamfered coping, carrying
12 tapering piers, with moulded pyramidal caps and antefixae, joined by a chain
of spiked ball links.
John Joicey was the principal benefactor for the 1873 remodelling of the church.
