Former coaching inn, now flats above 2 shops. C18,C19,C20. Painted brickwork,
with a tile roof. Symmetrical front (west) of 2 storeys, 5 upper windows, with
a central ground-floor carriage entrance, with a shop on each side (No 6 to
the south side with No 8 behind, No 14 to the north side with 12 behind, 10
above entrance). Painted brickwork in Flemish bond, with signs of altered open-
ings, 1st floor band (broken by lowered windows), plaster coved eaves with
moulding. Sashes in exposed frames. No 6 is a C19 double-fronted shop, with
angular bays beneath a continuous frieze to cornice, No 14 is a C20 glass front
of 5 units (one a doorway). The carriageway has a recessed boarded doorway. The
rear elevations (of different projections) comprise 3 ½-hipped gables, of 3
floors.
