Farmhouse. Possibly C15 with early C17, C19 and C20 alterations. Timber-
frame, roughcast, plain tile roof, brick stack left of centre, small brick
end stack to right. 4 bays, two to left probably forming open hall, stack
inserted against central hall truss. 1 1/2 storeys, 2 C19 gabled dormers to
attic; 4 C19 casement windows, two each side of C20 gabled porch of centre
right. Framing: intermediate trusses are crucks, with arch braces to collar
of the one that probably was at centre of hall; gable walls are square framed,
3 panels high to wall-plate, trusses: queen struts to collar (visible within
barn attached to left end of house - not included). Interior: bay second
from left has exposed ceiling beams with deep chamfers, contemporary with
insertion of stack perhaps in the early C17; room to extreme left has cup-
boards flanking stack with raised and fielded panels to doors and butterfly
hinges.
