Manor house. C17 with C18, C19 and C20 alterations and additions. C17 work
for Thomas Litchfield. Rubble, stone slate roofs. 2 storeys, double-depth
plan, 5 first-floor windows to south front. Quoins between first and
second, third and fourth bays and to right. Central 3 bays: C17. Ground
floor: between second and third bays, part-glazed window in chamfered
quoined doorway; 16-pane sash window in late C19 chamfered surround in
second bay; to third and fourth bays, a canted bay. First floor: C18 2-
light double-chamfered mullion windows with small 18-pane sashes in each
light. Added right-hand bay has part-glazed door in late C19 porch with
hipped roof; matching first-floor window. Added left-hand bay: leaved board
doors in segmental-arched carriage opening; first-floor 16-pane sash window
with chamfered lintel. Shaped kneelers, ashlar coping. Stacks between
first and second, second and third, fourth and fifth bays and at right end.
Rear range, extending slightly further to left and with 2-storey lean-to to
left, has board door in segmental-arched doorway with roll moulding on
arris, assembly numbers cut into quoins, and recessed panel with raised
characters "TL 1688" on lintel. To right, C20 single-storey extension and
