Now Council Offices. 1729. 3-storey, 5-window house in Flenish bond of
red brick with purple headers. Slightly projecting centre section and
angle pilasters. Bands at lst and 2nd floors. Stone cornice and brick
parapet with recessed panels. Gauged brick arches to sash windows with
glazing bars in flush, box frames. 3 steps to door, (restored) with cornice
head and patterned, rectangular fanlight. in moulded architrave under cornice
hood on console brackets. Inscription on frieze: "Churcher's College 1729".
Similar brickwork to rear but windows of older type with mullioned and
transomed leaded casements. 1 storey and attic wings added at either side.
Inside a staircase with one spiral turned and one reeded baluster to each
tread, ramped handrail and cut string. Panelled staircase wall with reeded
pilasters.
