House. C17, restored and extended mid-C20. Timber-framed, painted brick and
rendered infill, plain tiled roof. Two framed bays with external rebuilt
chimneys at gable ends, now both enclosed by C20 additions. Single storey and
attic with dormers. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate, collar and
tie-beam truss, with three struts to collar and V-strut above, exposed at left
gable end. Front elevation: windows are all C20 leaded casements; ground floor
has a pair and one single 2-light window with plank weatherings; two gabled
dormers with 2-light windows; entrance to left of right framed bay has a C20
gabled timber-framed porch and half-glazed door. Interior not inspected.
A single-storey extension adjoins the left gable end, a large C20 single-storey
and attic cross-wing adjoins the right gable end; there is an outshut at the
rear running the full length of the original part. The house was once part
of the Vernon Estate.
