Farmhouse. Early C18 with later alterations and additions. Red sandstone
and brick, concrete interlocking tile and plain tile roofs. L-shaped plan,
2 storeys, 2:2 bays. South elevation: oldest range to right: quoins; 4-pane
sash windows with flush wooden architraves, and with brick arches to ground
floor; outline of fire window to left; shaped kneelers and raised verges;
white brick end stacks with dogtooth cornices, and with reverse-crowstepped
gable to right return. Late C18-early C19 range to left: quoins to left; on
ground floor to right, flush door below overlight in brown sandstone ashlar
doorcase with Tuscan pilasters, plain frieze, and cornice; to left, canted
bay window; first-floor windows as before; raised verge to left; white brick
stack with dogtooth cornice to left end; and with line of older reverse-
crowstepped gale in left return. Rear: to left, c1900 range added behind
main house, in brick on stone plinth with plain tile roof; canted bay window
to left; to right, 4-panel door flanked by glazed panels and with
3-pane overlight in elaborate brown sandstone ashlar doorcase; 4-pane sash
first-floor windows with segmental-arched lintels. Projecting to right,
gable end of brick wing added in early mid C19 with 2 windows on ground
floor and one on first floor.
