4/61 Church Cottage

GV II

Cottage. Probably late C17 or early C18 with later alterations. Sandstone
rubble plinth and timber-frame with plaster infill. Tile roof with brick
and sandstone rubble stacks. Three bays aligned roughly north/south. One
storey and attic. West elevation has one window, a 4-light late C20 glazing
bar casement in a raking-top dormer. Ground floor has two contemporary 2-
light casements and two glazed doors. South gable to road has similar case-
ments and framed lean-to on the right-hand side with large sandstone stack.
Frame is three square panels high from cill to wall-plate. Interior has
collar trusses. Included for group value.
