Mid C16. Tall rectangle of walling, weathered on the top by stepped brickwork, but
surmounted by decorative castellations of triangular form, now incomplete. A single
carrigeway opening has a 4-centred arch, the outer part in (restored) stonework having
a hoodmould. The main structure is in red brickwork, English bond, with a high stepped
plinth. Above the arch is a stone panel (much weathered), with side pilasters
supporting a broken pediment, within which is a moulded panel (with arched head)
containing a shield with supporters.
