6/74 The Old Rectory
II
Rectory, now private house. Early C18, altered C19. Brick with some blue
headers, plain tile and slate roof. 2 storey and attic, tall 3 x 2 bay, end
onto road, main block with on side along road low 2 storey, 4 bay wing.
Road front has to IH slightly projecting gable of main block. Gable has on RH
C19 gabled porch which has carried round offset plinth, corner pilasters and gable
wall. Double door on LB side. To LH 12-pane sash under rubbed arch. 1st floor
band. 2 similar windows on 1st floor. Above raised brick edges to half-hipped
gable with 2-light casement. Low wing has plank door in RH bay 1 or 2-light
casement in other bays and on 1st end bays. Blind openings to centre bays.
Roof hipped with stack above door.
