3/72 The Old Vicarage
II

House. C15 and C17. Timber framed with colourwashed infilling,
tiled roof. Two storeys, lobby entry plan of 2 bays with entrance
opposite stack. Heavy framing, 2 panels high, with some tension
braces in 3rd bay. Part-glazed door and C20 leaded casements. C17
brick stack. Later single bay 2-storey rear extension on left,
with C20 lean-to extension to kitchen.
Interior has large inserted stack to original hall, now living room
in left 2 bays with timber fire lintel and scooped chamfer stops to
spine beam, and some C17 panelling. Joists chamfered and exposed.
Fireplace to parlour in north bay blocked. Jowled posts with
corner braces at first floor level. C15 arch braced collar beam
truss with 2 tiers of purlins and windbraces over centre of hall.
