House. Early C19 and after 1812, for John Grant, on site of an
earlier house of 1723. Grey gault brick with slate roof. Two
storeys, 5 bays, 2 rooms deep. Centre bay is slightly recessed and
contains central 6-panel door with wide doorcase and flat canopy on
4 brackets. Round fanlight over door. Twelve-pane sashes, an
upper window on left side has reset lintel bearing date 1803. Bow
window on east side. To rear late C19-early C20 two-storey central
canted porch, gabled, with conservatory on upper floor and glazed
roof. Moulded eaves. Internally stair to rear beyond square
entrance hall. Reeded fireplaces. Wing to left rear said to be
earlier, now entirely late C19-early C20 externally.
