Farmhouse. First half Cl7, altered late C18. Coursed squared stone, stone slate
roof. Original plan of hall with partial outshut and 2-storey wing to rear. 2
storeys, 3 bays. Garden front: C18. Openings have plain stone surrounds. Door
to right of centre in C20 half-glazed porch flanked by 2-light windows and with 3
single-light windows above. All windows have sashes with glazing bars. Plain
gutter brackets. Stacks to right end and left of centre. Rear: left bay,
formerly outshut under catslide roof, has 3-light hollow-chamfered mullion window
to ground floor and wall above of later build. Central bay, a C17 projecting
gabled wing built of large blocks of stone, has a 5-light double-chamfered mullion
window to each floor, that to 1st floor with transom, both under hoodmoulds with
carved stops and with most of the lights leaded. Right bay has a brick outshut,
probably C18, breaking forward. Left return: 3 windows to ground floor, 2 above,
all with projecting cills and sashes with glazing bars. Interior: barrel-vaulted
cellar. Room in rear wing has large chimney, chamfered spine-beam and chamfered
doorway in left wall into C18 outshut which has large fireplace with chamfered
mantle-shelf.
