Large house. Soon after 1623 for Brice Allot. Hammer dressed stone.
Quoins. Plinth. Stone slate roof with gable copings on cut kneelers.
Finials to apexes and kneelers. Two storeys with ground floor continuous
drip mould. Three gabled bays, the outer wing projecting at rear giving
U-plan. Single storey gabled porch, between 1st and 2nd bays, with later
arched lintel to doorway, and sundial in apex. Chamfered inner door
surround and original oak plank studded door. Double chamfered windows,
mainly rendered, with mullions and transoms. 8-light to each bay 1st
floor, plus 2-light fire-window over porch. Ground floor windows of
10, 12 and 10 lights, the central window having king mullion. Rear
windows of 8, 6 and 3 lights, those to right at intermediate levels.
Main entrance opens against a huge fireplace which has moulded, arched
surround to centre bay, and to left bay a massive wooden lintel with
bread oven at rear. Some modernisation. The parlour wing, to right,
is oak panelled and has central, plastered beam and plaster cornice.
