Town house now shop/dwelling. Early C17 with c1800 refronting
and additions. Timber-frame on stone plinth, refaced with
brick, now painted; renewed tile roof, slate to rear, with
brick end stack to front of ridge. Single unit plus outshut. 2
storeys; 2-window range. Modillioned brick cornices.
Segmental-headed entrance to left end has plank door. Canted
bay window with frieze and cornice has 4:16:4-pane fixed
glazing; 1st floor has 3- and 2-light casements with iron
opening lights. Right return has exposed square framing on
coursed rubble plinth with painted brick of catslide rear
outshut. Cast-iron sign plate refers to a C19 tenement to the
rear, now demolished. Rear has C20 door and ground-floor
window; 3-light casement to 1st floor. INTERIOR: chamfered
beams; timber-framed gable exposed to 1st floor of No.9 (qv).
