Previously listed as 2 houses, now combined into one.
House. c1600, with C20 restoration. Timber-framed and
plastered, peg-tiled roof, red brick stack. Plan rectangular,
street range and slightly shorter brick rear addition. One and
a half storeys. Front NW elevation: symmetrical 2 window 2
door range, central stack, 2 gabled dormer windows, boarded
C19 doors at NE and SW ends. All windows C19 restored in C20.
2-light casement with glazing bars. 3x4 panes. Rear SE
elevation: principal roof and swept roof of ground floor
lean-to, C20 clay tiled, lean-to has 2 C20 casement windows,
one 2-light, one 3-light. Also narrow single light casement at
NE end of old house wall. NE and SW elevations: plain but wall
plates, rafters, collars and purlins of trapped side-purlin
roof evident.
INTERIOR: considerably rebuilt in C20 as necessary repairs.
Early primary braced oak studding. Back to back fireplaces of
C17 brickwork, jambs rebuilt, timber mantel beams, one has C17
compass-drawn 6 petal protection symbol.
