Bishop Auckland Cemetery gates

GV II

Pedestrian and vehicle gates and gate piers to municipal
cemetery. Probably 1884. Cast- and wrought-iron. 3
stop-chamfered Gothic style piers have plinths and cornices,
and swept pyramid coping with trefoil projection on each face.
Spherical finials with central strings. Pedestrian gate at
left shares pier with vehicle gate at right. Gates have
fleur-de-lys finials on plain standards and on dog bars, plus
cross bracing to lower panels.
