Barn. c.1700, altered. Mostly handmade red brick in English
garden wall bond (3+1), but the south side (to the road)
partly rebuilt in C20 brick; corrugated roof. Rectangular
5-bay plan. The south front has a blocked waggon doorway in
the centre, flanked by large C19 buttresses, the top of that
to the right partly covering the remains of a feature with a
basket-arched surround (a former window or a plaque, perhaps);
the wall to the right has blocked slit-breathers; that to the
left has been rebuilt. The north front has a rebuilt waggon
entrance in the centre (with metal sliding doors), a square
window and altered doorway to the left, and a cart doorway to
the right with cambered timber lintel. The west gable wall has
a flight of external steps to a loft doorway which is square
headed and flanked by small basket-arched windows. INTERIOR:
windbraced principal-rafter roof with raked struts, 2 pairs of
purlins; timber-framed partition wall with wattle-and-daub
infilling. Forms group with White Rails Farmhouse (q.v.).
