Tomb to members of the Cartwright family, dates of death,
1805-1866. c1805. Ashlar on brick base. Plain stone slabs cap
rectangular brick base, with remains of cast-iron railings.
Chest tomb has stop-chamfered balusters with hollow mouldings,
octagonal panels to sides and ends, one to south side with
slate plaque; reeded frieze has paterae to ends; catafalque
capping has fluted frieze with paterae, and entwined laurel to
ends, slate plaque to south, one missing to north. Worn
inscriptions to 2 panels and inscriptions to slate plaques. An
interesting example of early C19 tomb design.
