Bridge over River Tame. Medieval origins; rebuilt 1796 after
old bridge was destroyed by flooding; widened 1840. Ashlar.
Classical style. 6 rusticated segmental arches, the 2 to
centre larger, with continuous hood band; plain C19 or C20
parapet to east, roll moulding and coped parapet to west;
south ends have octagonal piers. Signs of widening to 4 outer
arches. The bridge is a significant element in the landscape
setting of the castle (q.v.).
