Town hall, now shop with offices. Dated 1779 on rainwater
head; much altered. Roughcast render on brick, tiled roof.
Rectangular plan at right angles to street. A pedimented
3-storey 2-window facade with a C20 shop front at ground
floor, and 2 widely-spaced C19 windows on each floor above,
all with altered glazing; in the pediment, a large painted
coat of arms with griffon and unicorn supporters, and to the
left a decorated lead rainwater head with raised lettering "E
D" (Earl of Derby) and "1779". INTERIOR altered in C19 and
subsequently.
