HIGH STREET.
Shop on corner of High Street and Combe Street and range to
the right facing Combe Street. c1840. Stucco; hipped slate
roof with stepped copings; truncated brick stack to left gable
end. Single-depth plan with curved corner bay.
2 storeys, 4-window range. Ground floor has C20 shop with door
on corner and tall moulded panel with concave corners to far
right. First floor has 3 moulded panels with concave corners,
one to far left, others flank corner window. 6/6-pane sash
windows set in keyed square-headed rusticated architraves. The
left one is in High Street; 2nd from left on carved corner
bay; 2 to the right in Combe Street.
Range facing Combe Street in style of main shop. c1840.
Stucco; slate roof with crested ridge and stepped copings to
right gable end. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys, 5-window range
lower than the main shop. c1840 wooden doorcase off-centre to
left with pilasters, cornice and panelled reveals; 6-panel
door with overlight. Four tripartite sash windows with
6/6-pane to the centres set in rusticated stucco surrounds
with keystones and panels below. Stucco platband, plinth and
rusticated quoins.
