Farmhouse. Early C17, extended early C18 with late C18 and some late C20
alterations. Timber-frame with painted brick underbuilt in painted brick,
tile roof. Three framed bays, hall in centre with stack to north and baffle
entry from west, north bay heated parlour, south bay unheated service; brick
bay added to north end, service wing added to east against service bay.
East front: gabled service wing to left with gable end stack and a C20 flat-
roofed extension forming a large porch; to right, rest of building has a tiled
pentice roof to ground floor; two windows: 2-light casements, central entrance
on ground floor with ledged door, single-storey brick extension to right.
Left (south) gable has jettied tie-beam, ground floor originally jettied, first
floor has a canted oriel with sill on consoles, also consoles to tie-beam;
framing of this gable three square panels high with straight tension braces;
north gable end similarly jettied with close-studding on ground floor. (Ms
report in National Monuments Record, 1977).
