House and cottage. Early C19; extended in 1841. Squared sandstone to front
and left gable end; coursed sandstone rubble to right side and rear; pantile
roof and rebuilt brick stacks. 2-storey, 5-window front. House to right
has C20 6-panel door beneath divided overlight. C20 2-light, small-pane
casements in original openings throughout. Recessed panel over door with
moulding of the Dawnay arms. Painted wedge lintels to all openings.
Cottage has plain door beneath divided overlight to right and 20-pane sash
to ground floor. Two 16-pane sahes to first floor. Heavy painted lintels
to all openings. Royal Insurance firemark beneath the eaves between house
and former cottage. Coped gables and shaped kneelers. End and left of
centre stacks. Left side: chamfered corner constructed of chiselled quoins.
Datestone in gable end. Rear: single-storey outshut with catslide roof,
with service wing at right angles to house.
