House and carriage shed. Early C19, incorporating remains of C17
building; later C19 extension and C20 modernisation. Herringbone-tooled
sandstone front with squared sandstone sides; pantile roofs. L-shaped on
plan. 2-storey, 3-window front, with 1-storey carriage shed at right.
Part-glazed, 6-panel house door beneath blocked divided overlight. 4-pane
sash over door and 20-pane sashes elsewhere, all with plain stone sills.
Tooled lintels to all openings. Coped gables and shaped kneelers. End
stacks. 4-panel door in carriage shed, with overlight and bordered,
tooled lintel. Coped gable and shaped kneeler at right end. Rear:
chamfered window opening with 4-pane sash at left end. Left return:
2-storey, 1-window wing with extension at left. C20 door in original
opening in wing with shuttered window to right and 16-pane sash above.
All openings have tooled lintels, that on first floor with keyblock.
Coped gable and shaped kneeler at left. House rear wall has chamfered
window opening with 2-pane fixed light. Right return: house attic
contains tiny hung sash window in chamfered surround. In carriage shed,
opening is elliptical, keyed arch of tooled, radiating voussoirs closed by
double board doors on strap hinges. Above is a pitching window, beneath
semicircular keyed arch, closed by board shutter on strap hinges.
Extension to rear wing not of special interest.
