House. Early C19 with later alteration and extension. Whitewashed brick in
Flemish bond; slate roof and whitewashed brick stacks. Central-entry plan
with rear service wing; later extended at rear. 2-storey, 5-window front.
Half-glazed and panelled door with patterned overlight in panelled reveal
within fluted surround with angle roundels. All windows are 12-pane sashes
with painted stone sills and lintels. Coped gables. End stacks to both
ranges of double span roof. Returns: roof valley masked by plain parapets.
Interior: entrance hall divided by semicircular fluted arch with imposts and
panelled soffit. Ground-floor left room has 2 segment-arched recesses,
similarly framed. Panelled doors and window recesses survive on ground
floor, door frames fluted with roundels. In first-floor front rooms
original basket grates in plain chimney-pieces survive.
