GV II*

Stables and coach house. Circa 1769 for John Hippisley-Coxe. Coursed and squared rubble; ashlar frieze, parapet and
coping; freestone dressings, hipped slate roofs, some slates missing. Virtually symmetrical facade, U-shaped with
projecting wings; in roughly conforming style to Ston Easton Park (qv). Single storey, 2:5:2 bays, oval windows in
freestone surrounds with glazing; 3 segmental headed door openings, 2 with false-panelled doors executed in freestone,
one blocked. Three broad segmental-headed carriage openings, on with C20 metal doors, one with sliding panelled door.
Right return with pedimented centre bay. (Country Life, March 23, March 30, and April 6, 1945).
