1831. Built for Edmund Peel, third son of Sir Robert Peel. A large stuccoed
house with Jacobean characteristics. 2 storeys; advanced wings at sides
with stepped gables having obelisk finials. The recess has an arched
loggia over the lower storey, surmounted by a balustrade of pierced arcaded
type. All windows are multi-ported casements formerly in square hood moulds.
Smaller central gable with finials and an armorial shield; clustered
octagonal stacks.
