An early C18 7 window, 3-storey brown brick house, with red brick dressings, built
1722, forms the central portion of large Georgian type C20 offices in a red brick
with stone dressings. A modern tetrastyle portico has been added to the central
entrance. The old part has a good green slate roof. Interior has a very fine
painted staircase attributed to Landscroon and depicting the Triumph of Julius
Caesar. A handsome back room is completely decorated in the Adam style and there
is another similar smaller room. Much original woodwork. The plaster decorations
are attributed to Sir Robert Taylor.
