Police station. Early C20. Coursed squared tooled sandstone with ashlar
dressings. Graduated Lakeland slate roof with stone features. Neo-vernacular
style in keeping with local traditions of building. 2 storeys, 3 bays, slightly
irregular. At either end a studded plank door, with long hinges, in hollow-
chamfered alternating block surround with lobed lintel. Arms of King Edward VII
above north door. Wood mullioned 3 and 4-light windows, those on ground floor
transomed; and small window left of south door. Shaped wood eaves brackets.
Gable copings and kneelers; corniced stacks at centre and ends.
