Pair of houses with cottage adjoining on left. 2 builds, early and later C18.
Large coursed squared stone with plinth. Pantiled roofs, stone copings, brick
stacks. No 99, 2 storeys, 3 windows above and one below, irregular. Yorkshire
sashes and a ground floor shop window. At left a bronze plaque erected in 1914
commemorates Captain Cook's attendance at the school. Nos 103 and 105 taller
and broader. 2 storeys, 4 windows, irregular. Doors open off central passage.
2 and 3-light Yorkshire sashes, and 2 fixed lights with opening panes at right.
High-pitched swept roof; large coped stack at junction and smaller one at
right. Left return entrance to No 99, with a 3-light ground floor window and
small light in gable peak. Rear elevation shows stone stairs to first floor
boarded schoolroom door with inscription: 'Michael Postgate built this school
house in year 1704. Rebuilt 1785'. Lean-to at left of stair. Rear elevation
of Nos 103 and 105 shows similar irregular fenestration and a boarded passage
door.
