The Old Rectory
II
Former rectory, now house. Late Cl8. Pale brown local brick with stepped and
dentilled eaves. Plain tile roof with stone coping and kneelers. Rebuilt end and
ridge stacks. 2 storeys, 4 bays. Victorian single-storey bow to left has windows with
margin lights, flat on plan, probably inserted later. Early C20 wooden porch, inside
which the original doorcase survives. 6-panel door with patterned radial fanlight in
wooden doorcase with reeded pilasters supporting an open dentilled pediment with
paterae in the friezes. Late C19 sashes in flush wood architraves with chanelled
stucco lintels. Interior: C18 architraves to doors, arches with keyblocks in
hallway. Staircase with reeded newels, turned balusters and ramped handrail with
curtail.
