House. Late C17, with late C18 and C20 alterations. Ironstone rubble and
ashlared limestone, with ashlar dressings, brick. Slate roof with ashlar coped
gables with kneelers. 2 gable stacks, that to left of brick, that to right with a
stone base, and brick above. A ridge stack, also with stone base, brick above.
Plinth with chamfered set-offs. 2 storeys with garrets. South front: 2 storeys,
4 bays. Whole front of dressed ashlar with cavetto moulded stringcourses at first
floor level and below eaves. Off-centre doorway with C20 stone, gabled porch with
part-glazed 6-panel door. To left, two 3-light sliding sashes with wooden
lintels. To right, a similar window. All with sloping lintel projections on
brackets. Above, three 3-light sliding sashes with wooden lintels. Above the
porch are signs of a blocked window. West gable end wall of ironstone rubble has
a late C17 3-light window with chamfered mullions and frame and a hoodmould. Its
left light now bricked up. Above, a smaller window originally of 3-lights, now
occupied by a 2-light iron casement. Stone jambs and wooden lintel of former
window remain and former light to right is now bricked up. East gable end wall,
also of ironstone rubble, has 2 small casements one at first floor level, the
other above in the garret. Both have wooden lintels.
