Shown on O.S. Map as Sutton Farm.
Farmhouse, now disused. Late C16 and C17. Timber framed with rendered infill
panels, some replaced with brick nogging. Plain tile roof. Framing: C16
close studding with middle rail and S-shaped tension braces; C17 small square
panels (4 from sole plate to wall plate) with corner braces. L-plan. C17
range of 2 or 3 framed bays with C16 gabled cross-wing to left. 2 storeys.
Brick stack behind ridge off-centre to right and brick end stack to left;
external brick end stack to cross wing. 2 first-floor and 3 ground-floor
windows; C19 two-and 3-light wooden casements. Central doorway. C19 one-
storey brick lean-to to right. Right-hand gable has collar and tie-beam truss
with queen struts and V-struts. Cross wing with blocked first-floor window
in return with gap in framing beneath (possibly where a window has been removed).
Gable end of cross wing has collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts. Interior
not inspected but likely to be of interest. Close inspection of exterior
denied. It appears that the eaves of the cross wing might have been raised at
some time (see braces to apparently former wall plate). This house was formerly
known as Sutton Farmhouse but it is now disused.
