Pair of terraced houses. Set back from Pentonville Road.
c.1800-1820. Stucco lightly lined as ashlar over brick; roofs
obscured by parapet, brick end-wall stacks. Side-hall entrance
plan. Three storeys with semi-basements; 2 windows each.
Round-arched doorway to inner bay approached by curved flight
of steps with cast-iron railings: doorway with fluted column
(no. 42) and pilaster (no. 44) jambs carrying corniced-head,
patterned fanlight and panelled doors with C20 glazing to
upper panels; altered tented doorway canopy extending over
both doorways supported by C20 wooden posts. Round-arched 8/8
sashes with intersecting Gothic-style glazing bars to outer
bays; 6/6 sashes to upper floors. Plain parapets with stone
coping.
