House. Rear wing probably C17 in origin refronted in C19,
front elevation dated 1728. Front elevation of red brick in
English bond and hipped tiled roof. 2 storeys and attics 5
windows. 3 modern dormers 5 early C19 type 24-pane sashes.
Black band between floors in header bond. Central doorcase
with modern French window. Older L range is of lower
elevation. 2 storeys rendered with slate roof and central
brick chimneystack. 3 mainly modern casement windows, 2 in old
surround. C19 penticed porch. Interior has C16 roll moulded
beam (not in situ) and late C17 chamfered spine beam with 1
1/2 inch chamfers and lambs tongue stops. Stone inglenook
staircase, 4-panel plank door and early C18 2 panelled doors.
Front part of house has a late C18 pine Chinese Chippendale
staircase (similar to Pidford Manor qv item) and 6 panelled
doors.
