Cottage. Probably early C18 with wing of 1773 altered in mid
C19. built of ironstone coursed rubble with roof partially
thatched and part slate with 3 brick chimneystacks. L-shaped.
Front part 1 1/2 storeys 5:2 windows 5 casements to attic with
thatch forming eyebrows. 2 3-light casements to ground floor
and 1 blocked window to left. Left side late C18 or early C19
door with 6 fielded panels, the top two glazed, with later
wooden porch with chamfered supports and trelliswork. Right
side has C18 lean-to outbuilding with 1 window. Left side L
wing is of 2 full storeys and has 2 sashes with verticals
only. Interior has open fireplace with arch to breadoven and
chamfered spine beam with lambs tongue stops and joists with
lambs tongue stops. Parlour has brick piers and arched stone
lintel. C19 china cupboards, one with serpentine shelves, and
book cupboard on the other side.
