Statue and enclosing railings. 1863. By Thomas Earle. Paid for
by WH Moss, Mayor. Larger than life-size white marble seated
figure on rectangular pedestal with moulded plinth and
cornice. Recessed panel on each side with coats of arms, and
inscription to front. Patterned cast-iron railings with
rounded corners and corner posts in the form of lions. The
statue was erected to commemorate a visit by the Queen to Hull
in 1854.
